This situation is quite unusual. Both parents appear to face problems with their phones losing connection to the Wi-Fi in your home. The setup uses a Netgear XR1000 router and an upstairs Netgear Wi-Fi extender, configured as a mesh network. While other devices work fine, the phones keep encountering errors such as "Couldn't get an IP address" or "Couldn't authenticate." You've tried resetting network settings, clearing cache in recovery mode, forgetting the network and reconnecting—yet the phones still refuse to join. Other gadgets remain operational and both phones are up to date. Anyone have suggestions?

It might be the setup that's causing the problem?
