Hello, after updating my BIOS to version F9e as mentioned on Gigabyte's official site, I used the @ BIOS application. After the update, my computer failed to start and displayed code 4F. The indicator light was active for M_Bios, then after about ten seconds it performed a random restart and switched to B_Bios. This pattern continued throughout the time the PC remained powered on. After checking, I considered two possible explanations. The first idea was that during the update, B_Bios might have also been flashed to the newest version, which would explain why B_Bios doesn’t switch back to M_Bios. The second thought was that the motherboard didn’t have enough time for the switch. A video below illustrates the LED changing from backup BIOS to main BIOS and then restarting immediately afterward. This might suggest the BIOS was already updated and tried to save changes before rebooting, though it still didn’t work. After letting the PC boot in a loop for 30 minutes with no improvement, I looked through Reddit threads and Gigabyte forums. Most users reported similar issues. They suggested possible causes like damaged pins (1 & 6, 4 & 7) or holding the power button until it turned on and off before restarting again to access backup BIOS. I also tried removing the CMOS battery and short-circuiting a jumper for ten seconds, but none of these methods resolved the problem. This supports my second theory more strongly. In one forum post, another user managed to bypass the backup BIOS long enough for it to update, aligning with my hypothesis. Still, I remain wary of damaging my motherboard. Any advice or possible fixes for this situation?
