Hello! Your Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 is functioning properly, but if your TMPIN2 is unusually high during temperature tests, it could indicate a thermal issue or sensor malfunction. Consider checking the cooling system and ensuring proper airflow.

If I had to estimate, the VRMs offer two options. First, connect the heat sink on the left side of the CPU. Monitor its temperature; if it's high, that indicates the VRM temperature. Just remember to stay cautious—80°C might damage skin. Second, use HWInfo64 to track performance. Compare the readings between the two tools. Make sure to run each one individually to prevent conflicts in data collection.

Checked HWinfo details—it provides much richer data. The extreme heat could indicate your onboard video is still running, possibly despite the video card being installed.

They seem to have multiple versions, but it looks like they didn't use onboard graphics.

I attempted to touch it, but it felt only warm—not hot at all. I’ll proceed with that now. Appreciate the advice!

I'm using the identical board for comparison, which lets me match your measurements. I had to discard the side panel and threw away a 9-inch fan to maintain proper airflow around my drives.

It might be related to the temperature around the CPU, especially while running Prime95.

The other list doesn’t display the high temperatures you’re seeing. It seems your setup is a stock CPU cooler, while the other one shows different values.

I own a 240mm AIO unit. I installed a compact fan directly on the VRM heatsink. The 80C model had been under heavy heat stress after the prime95 test. The HWInfo screenshot was taken in under a minute, but this is from several minutes later. The image doesn’t show the small fan. Update: Spoiler This was edited on April 28, 2020 by tatsukage13 and includes a photo of the system interior.
