G2A prices
Well, if you're looking to sell keys, there are some options available. However, competition keeps prices low, often resulting in poor returns. G2A also takes a small cut from each sale, which can leave you with little value. The market tends to drop prices because many people are eager to offload items. Additionally, it's not as reliable as Steam, which adds another layer of concern.
I often give away keys I don’t need. Your feedback is appreciated. You seem interested—doesn’t it feel less reliable compared to Steam? That’s what I mean. The fees raised doubts about the platform being a potential scam.
I'm not sure how you can make the statement G2A isn't trustworthy, have either of you even used the site before? I've purchased two games from G2A, Shadow Of Mordor (after release) and Far Cry 4 (pre-release). Shadow Of Mordor worked fine, key was delivered within minutes. With Far Cry 4 I ended up cancelling my pre-order about a week before the game came out as I bought a GtX980 and could get FC4 with it for free. The whole process took about 10 minutes of online chat, with someone who could clearly speak (type) english, which is more than I can say for massive companies like EA. I've read that people purchase keys at discounted rates, no different than what the Game Stops of the world do, and then sell them on there for less mark up than what you normally see. Publishers also sell games on G2A, they can be sold for cheaper because there is no middle man and therefore no additional markup. In my experience, G2A is a place you should be going to price out games.
The low cost of G2A comes from people purchasing keys in bulk and using them as gifts. This explains why most G2A games can be redeemed as gifts, making them simpler to share. Users usually acquire the keys during Steam Sales or used them through Humble Bundle before direct gifting to Steam accounts—like when they simply provided product keys. I’m not sure if Humble Bundle still offers this method. I haven’t purchased a bundle since the WB bundle in August, though it’s unlikely I have now.
It's fine. Just don't buy from people because there are people selling games on it too. It's when they buy from orther people using it as a marketplace. If you don't trust G2A check out Kinguin.
