g1 sniper b5 unlock cpu voltage details?
hello guys i have some questions about how my G1 sniper b5 unlocks the CPU voltage. it seems to go from 1.2v up to higher levels. i know the chipset is b85 and the bios limits it at 1.2v in f9. but when i try to increase the voltage of my g3258 from 3.2gHz to 4.5gHz with normal voltages to reach the max, it shows 1.25v according to cpu z. during a real bench stress test lasting 30 minutes, it didn’t crash. then i tried pushing it even higher to 4.6gHz but it crashed. i checked the voltage and set it to 1.3v, which worked. i’m curious about how that happened. usually when i try to increase the voltage, it just stays at 1.2v, even if i type in 1.201v. it goes back down to 1.200v. so i restarted my system and ran a stress test on windows with 4.6gHz and 1.3v for 15 minutes using real bench. it passed, but the temperatures were high—max 84°C, min 29°C, value between 69 to 79 degrees. i’m using an h50 liquid cooler and planning to switch to an h100.
i also attempted to boot at 4.7gHz with 1.375v and didn’t run a stress test. instead, i watched youtube videos for 15 minutes to see if it would work without crashing, aiming for a temperature around 61°C, value 31°C, min 66°C, max 69°C. i’m worried about stress testing my cpu at 4.7gHz without a better cooler.
so my main question is: does my motherboard have any issues, or can the CPU voltage really be unlocked on this board?
