Fx6300 ga78lmt-usb3 overclocking issues, assistance needed
Hello,
I keep trying to push my FX 6300 beyond 3.8 or 3.9, but it often crashes or shows blue screens. Some say the GA78LMT isn't meant for overclocking, while others claim it works well.
Here are the details:
- 500w gold standard power supply
- R9 270 GPU (works after overclocking)
- 2x4GB ballistic RAM
- Voltage in BIOS always set to 1.425, can't go lower
- After crashes at 3.9 overclock, voltage was increased but still crashes
- Running Prime95
- CPU cooler feels hot, but CPU temps are around 59°C per HWMonitor
Thanks for your advice.

CountMike shared his thoughts on the situation, mentioning that 4+1 VRM might be a bit excessive for a 125 Watt setup but shouldn't cause too many issues with the FX6300. He also asked if someone is using an OEM CPU cooler and shared that he has a Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler, which keeps the CPU running cool.
