The CPU must be overclocked to operate at 5GHz. The turbo setting is automatically turned on in BIOS and applied when the processor exceeds its standard 4.7GHz limit.

I also increased the CPU to 5GHz, but the motherboard refused to accept it. Should I try adding more voltage?

I increased the clock speed to 5ghz but the motherboard refused. Should I try a higher voltage? Probably yes. Overclocking is actually quite straightforward nowadays.

What configurations are active? Your present voltage level is crucial—PSU, cooler status? Have you reviewed fundamental manuals about turning off power-saving or turbo functions? It’s far from just adjusting the multiplier and inputting a new value.
