I've already tested overclocking the 8370, it runs smoothly at 4.7ghz with a 1.45vcore.
However, even after turning off all extra settings on the 990 FXA UD3 Mobo and applying high performance mode in Windows 10, I still lose clock and VCore values from 1.450 to 0.960 each time the MHz drops from 4.7 to 1.3.
Cool'n quiet is off, C6 is disabled, and all power-saving features are turned off.
Load-Line Calibration is enabled on the second highest setting.
How can I stop this?
What are your temperatures? Your CPU and VRM temps? It seems like thermal throttling is occurring.
Your temperatures are normal. At stock temperature it's 51 at maximum load - 1.39vcore. At 4.7 with 1.45vcore it reaches up to 65. I recently increased the frequency to 4.8ghz and switched to Extreme, which increased vcore to 1.50, reaching a max of 1.524 with a peak temperature of 75 - it's stable but fluctuates every couple of seconds... all the way down. The LLC didn't change much.
EDIT: 4.8ghz isn't stable by a notch so I'm reverting to 4.7 and another vcore reduction.
The issue with downclocking still remains... what should I do?
I have a bit of a problem with this setup. My AMD A10 6800k runs at 4.1ghz and is overclocked to 4.5ghz. I’d like to push it further, but I need higher voltage. If I aim for 4.7 to 4.8ghz, the voltage needs to exceed 1.3625. However, whenever I go beyond that point, the processor automatically drops back to 3.7ghz while maintaining the applied voltage. I’m not sure what’s causing this behavior when increasing the voltage. My power supplies have enough capacity.

Sorry, it has been a while since I've been online. What I'm saying is providing more voltage to the CPU and enabling LLC will lead to higher temperatures on the VRM's. I have my Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 running overclocked with LLC on normal, but the extra voltage from my overclocked CPU still causes my temps to increase. To address this, since I'm using water cooling, I added an extra 120mm fan to direct airflow over the VRM's. If you want to monitor your VRM temperatures, you could use tools like hwinfo and install a fan to circulate air over them.
