I'm attempting to boost my FX 8350's overclocking because I can't run Escape From Tarkov. It's currently running at 4.6ghz with a 1.4vcore, but performance isn't improving much so I'm unsure what's causing the problem.
The motherboard is extremely weak, it cannot provide sufficient power.
All systems are at their minimum, I've checked the resolution on every setting but still can't exceed 60fps
Your specs are quite alike, and although it has limited power performance, you should be able to play the game smoothly at normal speeds. Overclocking might be leading to CPU throttling, or there could be a driver-related problem with the game.
I believe the FX 8350 may be limiting your 1060's performance. Are you using a 2x8 setup? Confirm it's operating in dual channel mode.
I have the same board on another PC which runs with a FX 4170.Max. I could reach up to 4.7ghz, but it wasn't stable and I had to use 1.4125 volts for that. Try what Bry mentioned, but generally an overclocked CPU can provide 5-10 fps maximum on older hardware. Intel, on the other hand, can achieve huge gains because it can reach 5-5.2ghz.
