I'm working with an ASUS M5A78L laptop paired with an FX 8350. Two DDR3 HyperFury 8GB modules are installed, all with overdrive enabled. I've disabled C6 and CnQ settings. When the CPU reaches full load, its speed decreases. A screen capture shows the clock speed dropping during Prime95 execution. Normally it stays at 4.4GHz if Prime95 isn't running. I've set the voltage to 1.375 and the power supply to 1.15. I'm trying to raise the frequency back to around 4.0GHz, but it still drops. The issue is frustrating because it leads to stuttering in games when the clock falls to 1.4GHz.
Most multi-core processors offer varying boost frequencies depending on how many cores are engaged, allowing full utilization to maintain performance.
The area lacks a heat sink or thermal paste, but you're using water cooling on your CPU and have three exhaust fans nearby. Consider additional cooling methods such as improving airflow, adding more fans, or adjusting fan speeds to help dissipate heat more effectively.
Hey everyone, I've resolved the problem by swapping in a new motherboard with VRAM, but now another issue has appeared.
