USAFRet:
Yoshix :
If you're aiming for serious overclocking, the FX-9590 is the way to go. Oh, think about that 6GHz speed!
However, be careful not to spend too much on FX models—Intel-K Editions are actually better suited for overclocking.
An
9590?
It would be smarter to opt for something more practical:
Haha, that's the point

Jnester shares an impressive benchmark result with a Fire Strike exceeding 8GHZ. Check it out on Fire Strike! It seems this achievement is quite specific—don’t waste time searching elsewhere. The 8GHz claim appears to be the optimal setting for the CPU. The duration matters little compared to the short test of just three minutes in liquid nitrogen, aside from the occasional waving.

Jnester shares his thoughts on the benchmark results, noting it surpasses expectations at over 8GHZ. He points to a specific article for more details. He mentions that the performance was limited to just one core, not the full eight, and emphasizes that an 8GHZ core isn't significantly better than eight 3.5GHZ cores. He also comments on the overall value of FX processors compared to Intel, especially when considering cooling requirements for high-performance builds.

I don't understand why 8GHz is impressive now. Intel surpassed that 10 years ago—long before Firestrike or DX11 existed. If the goal is to perform more tasks with smaller steps at higher speed, the P4 outperforms the Piledriver significantly.

You understand that Ghz stands for nothing significant by itself. Even after a huge overclock, the FX lineup loses out against Ryzen and today's Intel chips in performance. Many simple jobs still handle better with the basic G4560 than the FX8350.

I own an i7-7700 personally for gaming with a 1060, and it handles Witcher 3 at high settings above 200 fps. My CPU is the EVO 212, and it never drops below 6 hours of continuous play at over 60 FPS. I’m an Intel enthusiast, but the Ghz i mentioned on The x-832 seemed like a promising subject. On my Windows 10 system with 16 GB RAM and 2400 MHz processor, everything runs smoothly.
