The i5 would perform significantly better. An i3 would still be advantageous over time.

No, the i5 4460 isn't suitable; an i3 4130 would perform better.

An i5 works better for this task. FX chips struggle because they’re not powerful enough for processors.

He asked whether it could maintain high frame rates, and the answer is yes—it definitely can. The performance depends on the GPU; an i5 or i3 might help a bit, but your response seems incorrect.

the price gap between that setup and an i3 is noticeable. your brother's fx6300 handles older titles effortlessly and even newer ones well. it’s not limited by performance issues. an i3 would be a solid choice, but an 8320 would also work just fine.

It can manage those games well. I used half of them on my FX 6300 without any problems.

It's straightforward to find. In recent titles it lacks uniformity compared to rival Intel components. For example, in demanding CPU-intensive games Intel tends to excel. However, next-gen titles leveraging DX12 and Vulkan show improvement, as seen with the performance jump from Mantle. This suggests longevity. Still, an i5 remains a solid all-round choice. A worthwhile purchase if you're looking to cut costs versus the i5.

It mentions losing just a few frames per second compared to Intel. Used to be that cap made games unplayable?
