fx 6300 overclock guide for beginners
fx 6300 overclock guide for beginners
I'm working with an FX 6300 processor, 1060 3GB RAM, 8GB storage, and an MSI 970 gaming motherboard. I'm considering overclocking due to a bottleneck. I also plan to install the CM Hyper 212 cooler because it fits my budget. How should I proceed with overclocking and whether it's a good idea? Please advise.
I believe ambient temperatures and case cooling are sufficient for an 212 evo to reach 4.3-4.5ghz on a 6300, without any major issues. I've seen it work well with an 8320 at 4.4ghz, which stays close to 70c. A 4.2/4.3 boost is a good way to reduce bottlenecks when paired with a 1060 3gb.

Current setup includes fx 6300 at 3.5ghz, 1060 3gb RAM, 8gb memory, M.2 970 gaming motherboard. Considering overclocking due to bottlenecks and planning to install a cm hyper 212 cooler as the best budget option. Need guidance on how to proceed and whether it’s advisable. Please help.
I tried this CPU and it only reached 3.8Ghz with a 212 cooler. I followed every guide and spent hours trying, but it seems a better cooler would help once temperatures rise above 70°C. Check out the forum post for more details.
I tried to get this CPU to run smoothly at 3.8Ghz with a 212 cooler, but every guide I followed took hours and suggested a better cooler once it gets hot. I think I found something useful here: http://www.overclock.net/forum/10-amd-cp...board.html

If you locate the deepcool gammax 400 at a comparable cost, it's marginally superior to the evo 212 and significantly simpler to install.
