My rig includes: Fx 6300@4ghz, M5a97le2.0, 8gb ram, Powercolour rx 480 red dragon single fan, Antec vp450.
I’m at 4ghz with default voltage and temperature. The first hour of prime testing was 1hr, and gaming lasted 2 hours with temperatures between 48-50°C. I don’t want to overheat it further.
I’m considering adding VRAM heatsinks since the chips don’t have any. Would this affect my motherboard?
Thank you for your help!

It's okay with your CPU OC, seems fine. Including heatsinks on the VRM shouldn't cause any issues.

your character is okay with the CPU OC, everything seems fine. Including the VRM's heatsinks shouldn't cause any issues. Would it be possible to raise it to 4.1ghz once the VRAM heatsinks are added?

It's feasible, yet the advantages for the 0.1 gHz OC won't significantly impact anything.

thanks for your fast response.
i'm mainly looking to ease the bottleneck between my gpu and cpu in games where i'm on a tight budget right now. i'm considering an cpu overclock.

You can change the settings if you think it will assist, though a 0.1 gHz adjustment won't make much difference. If you increase it more than necessary, you might notice slight improvements, but I usually don't change settings unless I really need to. I mostly just lower the game's settings to achieve better performance, which is my usual approach.

You can change the settings if it seems beneficial, though a 0.1 gHz adjustment probably won't make much difference. Doing more than that might yield slightly better results, but I usually don't OC unless absolutely necessary. I mostly just lower the game's settings to improve performance, which is my approach.
