Hello Hivemind, I've encountered a persistent issue after upgrading my PC. It seems the performance has deteriorated without a clear cause. The problem appears randomly, especially when the system is under stress—most often during gameplay like Warthunder, but also occasionally when idle or Firefox is running. During these moments, some software on screen freezes or loses functionality. For instance, with Firefox open while watching a video, audio stays on but the video becomes extremely stuttering and stuck. If Discord is active, I still get sound from friends, but they can't hear me. When Steam is running, the window looks empty (dark grey background) with no content and the interface doesn't respond. In Task Manager I can open it, but it no longer shows any performance data—GPU tasks like "Video Decode" and "Copy" are at full capacity without changes. Opening a new Explorer window or trying to restart/shutdown doesn’t trigger any action. Even after a forced reboot, everything seems normal. I’ve already reset my PC and that didn’t fix it. One thing that bothers me is the graphics card I have—used, a couple of years old. It was wiped before installation, but after updating drivers (especially PCIe), I had to wipe the whole disk and restart from scratch. I skipped those PCIe updates but kept others. I’ve also noticed that the Event Viewer logs show a crash approximately 10 minutes prior to the incident, with the boot message indicating an unexpected shutdown at 21:26:34 on 09/02/2022. Additionally, there are no logs in the System section of the Event Manager for the last about thirty minutes before the crash. While I’ve been checking the Event Manager logs randomly, I found a specific entry related to SCEP Certificate enrollment for WORKGROUP. It seems unusual that there were no events for roughly 30 minutes prior. On reviewing the logs, I also saw an error in the Application section about the SCEP certificate enrollment. This might be worth investigating further. Also, my System32/services.exe logs show a login event every 40 seconds under Security settings. Is this typical behavior? The majority of these logs aren't a major concern. The most significant one remains the bus error. Would you say you have a riser in your setup? You could test your GPU in a different PCIe slot.
