In short, I sent my PC from India to Canada recently. The courier took my CPU out of the desktop while I was removing it. It came with a Ryzen 7 2700X and Wraith Prism cooler, and the motherboard is an X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming board. Even though the CPU was removed, I still have the cooler. Now I’ve bought a new Ryzen 7 5800X and want to install it, but the old cooler is gone. I’m worried about losing everything if I try to secure it myself. Since fixing the PC is expensive, I’m asking for advice on the best way forward. I searched online for CPU retention locks but didn’t find any results. I’ve attached some photos for your reference. you need legal assistance because of the theft. I’m hoping there’s a way to address this. I didn’t replace an AM4 socket myself, but if you purchase replacement parts, the socket would be my first choice. The plastic casing and retention arm appear to be the most typical replacements for your problem. For example, this listing suggests something similar. However, after a theft like this, it’s hard to confirm the motherboard wasn’t damaged at all. If a thief forcefully removed the CPU without care, the damage could have been much more severe.

I already raised complaint to DHL, and since the courier guy knows the industry, he showed me the footage that this hasn't happened in his warehouse (but in-fact it happened while he was transporting it. There's a computer shop next to him then its where he would have sold). And since I am not in India, its impossible for any legal recourse. Currently I just want to just get my PC started and start my work back. I did visually inspect the Mother board, nothing else has been damaged. Thanks (I did take out the RAM and GPU before the courier but somehow since CPU was concealed behing the cooler, didnt take it out which i regret now)
The CPU socket could be compromised. A basic visual check wouldn't show any issues.
I wouldn't risk using that motherboard anymore. Following @Fasauceome's advice, the photos show the caps near the socket are slightly bent, along with the CPU LED pins. It's hard to tell what else might be damaged or missing without your insight. Since your socket is also lacking components, using new parts could be risky.
There are several problems with the socket. The pins are completely clogged, and it seems the CPU was improperly soldered. The hot air tool used to remove it caused the retention plastic to fall out. Additionally, the cooler mounting plastic appears damaged.
At our business we exclusively use brown packing tape or tape featuring our branding. All shipping services worldwide rely on clear tape to secure damaged or opened packages. When our boxes arrive with clear tape, it makes handling them much simpler.
