Hello everyone, I've been observing a surprisingly high CPU usage (often between 40-100%) during gameplay, while my GPU isn't reaching its full potential. This makes me think my CPU might be being prioritized over the GPU. Although I haven’t experienced this before, some titles like Minecraft and Fortnite seem to cause this problem, but not Valorant, CS:GO, or Overwatch. It’s unclear if these games rely heavily on CPU resources, but could there be a way to adjust settings or resolve this issue?

Additionally, I’ve noticed my PC frequently crashes with blue screens after closing certain apps—such as "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT", "FAST_ERESOURCE_PRECONDITION_VIOLATION", "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL", among others. These errors are unpredictable and can disrupt gameplay.

Currently, my system specs are: CPU – Ryzen 7 3700X, GPU – NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti, RAM – 16GB DDR4 (D60G), 3200MHz, SSD – Samsung 980 Pro at 7200RPM, HDD – 500GB M.2 Seagate BarraCuda 2TB, motherboard – Corsair CX750F RGB, power supply – 750W, 80 Plus Bronze, cooler – AMD Wraith Prism.

If you have any suggestions or solutions to this problem, I’d really appreciate your input. One thought is whether the CPU might be limiting the GPU performance, or if both games are using integrated graphics that are being favored by AMD.

Unlikely at first. The memory issues you're experiencing suggest something with your RAM might be wrong. It could be a failing RAM stick, or BIOS settings might be incorrect. I'd reset the CMOS to restore automatic RAM behavior and try a memory stress test using memtest86—it's a solid choice.

RONOTHAN## mentioned this. You might also want to review your task manager to confirm you haven’t accidentally activated an unknown background process using an unfamiliar hotkey. Someone experienced a comparable problem with elevated GPU consumption, and we discovered they had launched a streaming application integrated into Invidia’s GeForce Experience. It can often be that straightforward.

Swap both RAM and CPU, start with single sticks, use MemTest86 to identify the issue.

Take two sticks, and check them. Many mistakes you mentioned come from memory issues.

I'm seeking more understanding about this matter. Others suggested checking the RAM and resetting the CPU and RAM to improve performance. I’m unsure how to actually reset the RAM or the CPU. I can run a memory test, but it might take a long time—maybe overnight. I’ve reviewed the feedback from my last post on the topic and would appreciate any additional advice. Thanks! Also, here’s the link to the previous discussion, and I left the original comment below if you don’t mind checking it. Updated July 16, 2022 by Kingzy

Here are some alternative phrasings for your request:

- Consider combining these subjects into a single discussion.
- Ensure you're not re-sharing your post to refresh it; keep the conversation going.
- If you'd like to refine the focus, let me know!

Sorry for the lack of reply. I considered trying those ideas and, if they didn’t work, well... here’s the situation. One RAM stick failed the test in category 9 (or test 9, which checks modulo 20). Should I worry? And should I opt for a warranty replacement instead? Thanks for understanding.

Completed the last build, only one test failed (modulo 20, ones & zeros). Should I return it for replacement? Also, if your power consumption is high on Discord and Valorant/Fortnite, should you swap out your PSU?
