FTPM depends on the PC and the TPM component can be taken out... meaning if a CPU has a software flaw, you might have to wait for a patch or switch to a different chip that fits your board and avoids the issue. The TPM part can be removed so your credentials remain secure even after removal, though its overall security isn't very strong. Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter which path you choose for your personal computer.
