Hello, I’ve been following the buzz around The Witcher 3 but haven’t played a Witcher title myself. I decided to try the enhanced edition on Steam. So far, I’m feeling a bit uninterested. After six hours in Chapter One, I finished defeating the tentacled beast and completed some side missions, but the overall experience hasn’t been satisfying. The interface feels cluttered, I often lose my way, and I end up repeating sections repeatedly. It’s hard to stay engaged. What do you think about this game? Does it suggest that Witcher 3 might not be the right fit for you? Should I keep playing, or is it time to move on? Cheers!

It isn't meant to be an effortless experience. While the interface isn't ideal, that's something they should improve on over time. It's worth diving into the political context and backstory, as it greatly influences the game's narrative and helps you grasp what's happening. The gameplay feels distinctively different in 3 compared to previous versions—movement was slower and combat less responsive, but much smoother now. 2 is a lengthy title; my initial session lasted around 50 hours. I recommend completing Chapter 1 and then moving to Chapter 2 to experience the new setting. Sometimes games require more time to settle in, but it often leads to a better overall enjoyment.

It's not flawless, but I'll take that. Once you move past the kayran (krakensquid thing), things get more engaging. If you're looking for something simple, just bump it down. Otherwise, keep going for that "FUCK YEAH" vibe when you finish. I thought both the storylines after flotsam were really solid.

The game isn't suitable for everyone. If you've defeated the kayran and the game remains uninteresting, it's best to stop playing. If you feel the game is overly challenging on lower difficulty settings, the challenge decreases significantly as levels progress, becoming progressively simpler. If you continue to struggle with the difficulty even when setting it to easy, there might be an issue with your approach.

Thanks for your feedback. I completed chapter one today. I was struggling a lot in the Malena quest, especially in the cave. Finished the other quests and the game performed better. Now I'm moving into the prologue of chapter 2. I'll keep an eye on how it goes. Cheers!

The Witcher 2 features an unusual difficulty progression—it begins challenging and then becomes progressively easier. For tips, allocate your resources to the Swordsmanship or Magic branches; the Alchemy path is quite poor.

Witcher 2 was a letdown compared to Witcher 1—mostly because the vibe felt off and some fan ideas weren’t heard. Witcher 1 is the one you need to master if you want to understand the series. The buzz around Witcher 3 is wild, but I’m worried about the chaos it’ll cause online after launch.

I just wrapped up the game today. The only other tough moment was defeating the dragon at the end of chapter 3. Because I stuck closely to the story, I think I wasn’t well-equipped, but after several tries, I finally succeeded. Now I’m about to start Mass Effect 1 and then wait for Witcher 3. Cheers!

I just wrapped up playing Witcher 2 over the weekend. The narrative is strong and the gameplay is generally enjoyable. But a few aspects felt off. For instance, it seemed illogical to have to pay someone to create an item whose parts you endured extreme challenges to get. I stuck closely to the Mystic River quest to obtain the Vran Armor, only to discover there was no way to gather 2000 orangs for crafting it! I’m hoping this won’t happen in Witcher 3.
