Hey everyone, I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU+Mobo+RAM setup. Right now I have an Asus B85M-G with a 10-1 FPANEL connector that fits perfectly with my Cooler Master K350 case, which uses the same cable. I've been considering AM4 mobos for my R5 3600 but prefer Asus because of my positive past experiences. However, I noticed all Asus ATX boards use a 20-5 front panel connector. I was wondering if an adapter would be necessary. Then I found MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX boards that have a JFP1 front panel connector. It looks similar, but are there any differences? Would it still work with my current cable? I might also look into buying a micro-ATX board since Asus ones have the same 10-1 connector, though some say they're not ideal and the extra cost is worth it for something like this. Yeah; it's typical. Back then, those units came with basic speakers that played BIOS beeps, and they required linking to the motherboard. @heleves now only provides four connections—three two-pin and one two single wires (though I'm not entirely sure why). The old white connector is now directly connected to a simpler pin layout on the board.

Yeah; it's typical. Back then, those units came with basic speakers that played BIOS beeps, and they required linking to the motherboard. @heleves now only provides four connections—three two-pin and one two single wires (though I'm not entirely sure why). The old white connector is now directly connected to a simpler pin layout on the board.

I believe the MSI Tomahawk could include the 4-pin speaker connector as well, which is another component referred to as JFP2.

They should work fine now. It's odd to notice a fresh motherboard still uses the same front panel connectors as my previous ones, especially with the built-in speaker. I'm really thankful it's possible. Appreciate your support! Good luck with the upgrade!
