I'm trying to link a network switch to my PC so it can provide internet to other devices. I'm having trouble figuring out how to make my computer act as the router that connects to your main router. Please help me out! P.S. That wasn't clear to say at first.
Link the router to your PC via the switch, then attach additional devices to it. Please share the name and model of your router as well as the switch’s name and model.
It seems you're trying to simplify the process. You should connect the cable from your router to the switch, then link the switch to your PC.
The device shouldn't forward internet traffic to the switch. The expected path is router → switch → end devices.
Visit Network Connections -> (Right-click) Your Source -> Properties -> Sharing -> Check the box next to "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet Connection". This setup works somewhat like a half-NAT. Certain applications enable direct network access while others don't. All linked clients will still have internet connectivity, which should suffice if that's your requirement.
