Fried Mobo?
Fried Mobo?
I assembled a compact ITX system recently. It started up smoothly, handled gaming for about 14 hours without problems. Then, while playing a game with Bluetooth, USB, and WiFi active, all connections dropped but the game continued uninterrupted. I switched to a desktop and powered it off completely. When I tried to restart, the PC failed to boot. Fans spun, but nothing else worked. I've tested everything possible—updated BIOS, changed CMOS, repositioned components, removed the GPU, swapped RAM sticks. My guess is the motherboard failed early, possibly due to a faulty component. The parts list looks correct. It’s late, so I can’t wait for a speaker. Any ideas? Could be a hidden issue I missed.
Stupid question but is the power button on the FPC? Could have been a dead FPC you know? If it's WiFi module soldered to or connected to motherboard it sounds absolutely bad, in your case if I am not mistaken it's going through a independent slot from PCH, it does sound like dead motherboard/PCH, but I wonder if you can keep your pc running fine to a certain extent without the PCH?
