Hey, I just set up a new PC for a friend and ran into some strange problems I've never seen before. The setup includes: Ryzen 5 7600X, ASRock A620M Pro, Wi-Fi, Corsair 2x 16GB DDR5, 6000mAh battery, Sapphire RX 6800X, Seasonic 80+plat, and an 850W power supply. Initially, Windows installation crashed repeatedly with blue screens and freezes during the live build. I tried Linux instead, but it got stuck at startup. After installing Windows on an M.2 drive, I managed to use it temporarily without issues. However, I now experience random RAM freezes with no sound and then lock screen appears. Occasionally the display shows only a blue half while the other side is distorted or frozen. The machine feels unusually hot to the touch, even though the BIOS reports 55°C. At first, the CPU and RAM lights lit up when I tried to install, but they're now off. If anyone else has faced similar issues or has suggestions, please share them—I really appreciate it!

What's the newest BIOS for your motherboard? Which Windows version were you attempting to set up?

I just installed the newest BIOS update. Initially attempted version 11 but ended up with version 10.

It seems your setup matches the problem you're facing. If Expo is active, turn it off and check if your PC runs smoothly afterward. Your Corsair DDR5 chips from Samsung might have known issues with Expo, and BIOS updates are attempting to fix them. I noticed BSODs after stability, which were resolved by reverting to original timing settings.

Thanks, give it a shot tonight. Maybe reducing the CPU voltage will help. I’m hoping for better outcomes.

Ensured the newest BIOS is installed on your motherboard. Ryzen tends to dislike RAM kits exceeding 3000MHz. Consider disabling the XMP profile and testing stock speeds again.

Attempted before using XMP, but frequency remains at 4800MHz and it keeps crashing. Checking the expo event tonight. Consider reducing CPU voltage to observe changes.

I ran both AIDA64 and BurnInTest. No crashes in AIDA or RAM/CPU checks. In BurnInTest, the Ryzen reached 84°C on my rig while I barely stayed under 60°C. The GPU test showed a verification failure for the GPU buffer content. Anyone have any insights? Recently, after setting RAM to 3200MHz and turning off XMP, crashes on Windows stopped, but games still crash to desktop during loading screens or after "Elden Ring." Nebulous doesn't even launch anymore. The latest crash happened during the easy anti-cheat setup for Elden Ring.

we set the ram to 3200mhz and turned off xmp, which seems to prevent crashes on windows now. however, games still crash to desktop during loading or right after "elden ring," and nebulus doesn’t even launch properly.
