These issues often arise due to insufficient space for a single uninterrupted chunk of memory. Even with ample free memory globally, lacking enough in one continuous area triggers the "out of memory" message. You’ll need a Windows-managed pagefile that adjusts size as needed, or additional RAM to provide more consistent blocks. From my side, the pagefile plays a crucial role in maintaining sufficient memory continuity. I increased my system’s RAM from 16GB to 32GB but still faced errors when the pagefile wasn’t properly set. Once it was restored, everything functioned correctly.

The 32 GB was more than enough since I didn’t need 16 GB and got it during a promotion. I wasn’t familiar with the "pagefile" setting, so I revisited the virtual memory options but forgot to click the "Define" button to save the changes. It looks like my issue came from that step. The French guide I read after experiencing swap overload suggested limiting virtual memory to the recommended limit, which I ignored. Don’t do that again—everything should work now, I hope!

Alright, everything’s back in order now. The crash was likely caused by the swap size limit, but my SSD is full again after removing two games. I haven’t played FFXIV in a week, so it’s probably not my fault. What’s going on with this recurring issue?

I attempted your initial command (Dism) but it seems the system reset to a state with a 15.9 GB pagefile.sys after reboot, rather than the expected size. Now the swap remains unchanged regardless of reboots. I tried the second command now—this was a lengthy process. Edit: No integrity issues detected. Also, as I mentioned before, Memtest86+ reported no errors.

Which motherboard do you use? I noticed that bad drivers can lead to memory leaks.

My system uses an Asrock M8 with a Z87-M8 board and an i5 4690K processor running 2x8 GB of Crucial Vengeance DDR3 RAM. It has worked smoothly over the past three years using the same drivers.

Earlier mentioned restrictions caused recurring issues across numerous games and programs. CF HarryNyquist: Seeking advice from Reddit users and French forums to identify the source of the leak. Need help with computer repairs?

Update from the side where the issue started: https://lightpics.net/album/7P It just happened when I turned my computer on after sleep mode with almost nothing running. The real concern isn’t just big games, but something else might be causing it. A RAMmap could help clarify what’s going on, though I’m still struggling to pinpoint the problem.

Noted, Runtimebroker.exe is consuming a huge memory amount during wake-up from sleep. It seems to manage W10 "metro" applications, though I haven’t used them. Why does this happen? It’s becoming quite annoying.

Checking the formatting or performing a Windows restore might help. You mentioned you prefer not to do that, but it could be worth trying if you're okay with it.
