Hello, I recently upgraded my RAM to Kingston Fury Renegade 16GB with a 3600MHz CL16 and enabled XMP profile. Everything functioned properly until I accidentally set the FCLK frequency to 3600MHz instead of the correct 1800MHz. This caused my PC to fail to boot, so I cleared the CMOS but still couldn’t start. I swapped the RAM modules in the slots, which eventually allowed me to access the system. Regarding your concerns: changing the FCLK frequency shouldn’t damage components if done correctly, but it’s important to verify the settings match your motherboard specifications. Lowering the tRFC value might be necessary depending on your motherboard model and current configuration. Default values are typically above 600, so check your specific system requirements.

It's unlikely since 3600mhz is extremely high; a PC would likely fail to start or only run briefly. Try checking memory or using the system directly to confirm. You'll get the result quickly.

Nope, worst case scenario is it won't boot or would be horribly unstable. Ryzen 3000 series chips top out somewhere between 1800 and 1900MHz FCLK depending on chip quality (most do 1867MHz, but there's a fair bit of variance in them), and Ryzen 5000 series chips top out between 1900 and 2000MHz, though it's rare to find one that goes above 1900MHz. The APUs are a different beast though, the 4000G series should do something like 2200MHz FCLK reliably, and the 5000G series IIRC does closer to 2500MHz FCLK. Yes and no. Yes it can help with performance, sometimes quite a bit, but there are a fair bit of memory ICs that won't really do much below 600 at 3600MT/s. You might get lucky with one of the few that do under 400 (or even under 300 like Samsung B die does), but this timing being unstable shows up as data corruption and is one of the more dangerous timings to have set too low while also being one of the harder settings to see instability for. If you want to do it the lazy way, find a memory stress test, start lowering it in 10-20 tick increments until you get a flood of errors, then raise it 50 and you should be good, but otherwise I probably wouldn't do it unless you're just gonna do a full manual overclock. Besides, if you're gonna go to manually tuning memory timings, there are a number of timings that are more important to performance than tRFC is and are easier to tune that you should tune first.
