Freeze when performance drops in your game.
Hello everyone, I’ve finally come to seek assistance after struggling with my issue for a while. My setup includes an ASUS X570-F motherboard, a 3700x CPU, an Evga RTX 2070 XC Ultra, 2x8GB RAM at 3600Mhz, and a Samsung 970 EVO 250GB SSD. I’ve noticed small frame rate drops that lead to stuttering in my games, especially in League of Legends where my FPS drops from 100 to 95 or below. This happens across all games and has persisted for a long time. Whenever my FPS falls even slightly, I experience micro-stutters or freezing. Temperature readings stay stable at 40°C in idle and 65°C during gameplay.
I’ve tried several fixes: updated BIOS (including activating the DOCP), updated graphics drivers, disabled G-Sync and DV-RAM, used a mixer audio card to rule out sound card issues, switched to fullscreen/shutter mode, performed a clean Windows install and memory testing, reset the cache, changed RAM, altered power settings, and even tried using a different mouse. Despite these efforts, the problem remains consistent at around 60 FPS, dropping to 58 with micro-stutters.
I also checked 3DMark scores and noted no audio skipping during stuttering, nor mouse freezing. If you have any insights or recommendations, I’d appreciate your help.
Your current BIOS isn't a firmware upgrade. Could you share your BIOS version (CPU-Z or motherboard details)? If it's outdated, consider updating. Use AMD chipset drivers—they're more recent and better. Also, turn off Multiplane Overlay MPO and Ultra Low Power State.
Sorry, my settings are default. I haven’t adjusted any values except for the dcop. The BIOS updates automatically to check if the issue resolves. I’m currently using build 4408. The chipset is from AMD, and the website provides the latest version. Before making changes, could you explain what each setting does? And where exactly can I modify them? Thank you for your assistance.
