Unusual issue I’m experiencing lately is that I can play games and use my computer for long periods, but once I stop using it and leave the room, it freezes completely. The screen stays on where I left it, and the system remains powered on with no visible errors on the motherboard or display. I’ve tried reinstalling drivers, swapping RAM, reinstalling Windows, and adjusting power settings. Next, I plan to change the BIOS setting or replace the GPU with an older model to check if the problem is hardware-related. Your advice would be greatly appreciated as this is really confusing. Here are my specs: Motherboard – Asus ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Dark Hero CPU; RAM – Kingston FURY Renegade 2x32GB at 3200MT/s; GPU – XFX Merc 7900XT; PSU – MSI MAG A750GL; Power settings – all default/UEFI.
Verify fast boot status in BIOS or Windows settings. Match the configuration. This feature is known as "fast startup." In BIOS, navigate to Hardware and Sound → Power Options → System Settings. Discrepancies may cause crashes and GPU driver issues. Once aligned, install DDU from the provided link and run it in Safe Mode. Adjust options under DDU, disable Windows Update during driver installation, then clean and restart. The recommended version is 24.12.1 for optimal performance with RX 7000 graphics cards.
