Hello everyone. I encountered an issue. I installed the graphics card driver via a custom setup. The computer would freeze afterward. Once it froze, it would also freeze when power was turned on, either in the password selection or on the main screen. I removed all existing drivers and reinstalled from scratch, trying both new and old drivers, as well as different BIOS versions. I even took the battery out and reset everything. I booted Windows from scratch and tried various options. This wasn’t related to drivers, Windows settings, or BIOS updates. What I finally understood is that without a graphics card, everything functions normally and doesn’t freeze. When I installed Windows on an SSD (Gen 4, Samsung 990 Pro), the computer would freeze during shutdown or reboot. It only started up through the case button. The SSDs themselves worked fine—even when used in a laptop. After updating the driver, I tested starting without the NVIDIA driver; it worked smoothly. However, if I activated the NVIDIA driver, the system froze instantly. This happened only with SSDs from the fourth generation. On the laptop SSD (MZVLQ1T0HALB-0000), everything operated perfectly. The motherboard handled the SSDs well, delivering optimal speed. But when Windows was installed on them, freezing occurred. Logically, this pointed to the motherboard since all components seemed functional. I tested the CPU, RAM, graphics card, and SSD individually—everything checked out. I even sent my motherboard in warranty, and they confirmed it was working. But they didn’t test the same hardware as mine, despite providing full details. They mentioned using parts similar to mine, yet their results differed. So, what should I do to pinpoint the exact cause? Here’s what I have:

When the computer detects the NVIDIA driver, it freezes instantly. This usually occurs in the settings menu requiring a password or on the desktop itself. I recorded 5–10 seconds of this behavior, which only happens with the latest generation SSDs.
It was a lockup, a crash so intense the machine can’t even display a blue screen. Is this happening in Boot mode? Does this apply to systems that don’t use Windows, like hardware that breaks windows? Would the same issue arise with a non-Windows OS? A bootable USB drive would typically be a straightforward solution. The confusion stemmed from the meaning of “freeze.” People interpret it differently.
Currently, the system uses a 3rd generation SSD from Samsung, model MZVLQ1T0HALB-0000. All functions operate smoothly without needing a graphics card. The 4th generation SSD won’t work with one either. This leads to doubts about the motherboard itself. The main issue appears to be related to the motherboard rather than the hardware components. I’ve tested various SSDs and graphics cards, ordered new RAM, but if it fails, it points directly to the motherboard.

Ensure all components function properly. Your system might lack a dedicated GPU or have a faulty driver.
I tested every driver and BIOS option. This problem is completely mechanical, not related to the drivers or BIOS.
Possible memory issues might be causing problems. Test on a single memory slot versus another. If one succeeds while the other fails, your memory could be faulty. When both pass, check if installation was incorrect initially. If nothing works, the problem likely lies elsewhere.
