Free games
Looking for some tips on free games? You mentioned Wolfenstein and The Golden Horde, plus titles like CS:GO, League of Legends, and others that are free to play. I’m interested in genuinely free options, especially single-player ones, and want to avoid games that require payment to win. Any recommendations?
Also OpenTTD offers plenty of fun if you enjoy it. There are many free titles available on Steam. GOG also provides free games. Epic Games frequently distributes games at no cost, though they’re not fully free. Humble Bundles delivers several games for a modest price.
I understand there are occasional free contests, but I’m looking for consistently available, high-quality free games. It’s not about spending money, but finding reliable options that everyone can enjoy. Open TTD definitely comes to mind, thank you!
World of Warships offers a great experience when enjoyed with companions (similar to War Thunder)
Sure, maybe World of Tanks is worth a try, even if it feels a bit pricey for winning games. I haven't played them yet, but I'm likely to give them a shot.
It’s not really, since getting a premium tank or ship will connect you with players of better status who earned their gear through grinding, and it’ll just complicate things more.
Currently, the top choice that fits your needs is America's Army Proving Grounds. It’s the only one I’ve found that’s genuinely free and promoted with full access to weapons. This game is free to play, though cosmetic items are available for purchase. I enjoy it because it sharpens my aim in its fast-paced arena shooter mode.
To access free single-player titles, install the Epic Games launcher and you'll receive new games regularly each week. I joined two years ago and my collection now exceeds 150 games, with only one purchase from that source. These complimentary games range beyond budget indie gems—featuring standout titles such as FEZ, Hyper Light Drifter, Superhot, and Assassin's Creed Syndicate—as well as AAA experiences like Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, Watch Dogs 1 & 2, GTA V, Civilization VI, Elite Dangerous, and Alien: Isolation. While many of the newer AAA releases are still relatively recent, they make a solid offer if you haven't acquired them elsewhere.
If you're ready for the challenge, you might try Dwarf Fortress. You'll either crash hard or end up buried so deep you'll lose all sense of "sanity."
