It's a solid game if you accept its nature. I really enjoyed it during my time in 2013.

I attempted to grab it right before the release, but I couldn't manage to swing my sword... became upset... and never handled it again.

It's not the kind of free swing you imagine today. The system is traditional. You chose your fighting approach—Power, Speed, or Precision—and Geralt just moved forward without hesitation.
