I've tested everything available. Fraps for long recordings is really bad because the files are huge, and Camtasia isn't exactly my style! If you don’t have Nvidia Shadowplay, I recommend using OBS—it’s a solid all-rounder, though not everyone has the right hardware. Check out a video I made some time ago that walks you through setting up OBS.

I favor OBS above other choices, particularly when recording activities beyond just games.
