Hello, I’m experiencing consistent performance problems across most games I play. This issue appears to be linked to my setup. Observations: I maintain a stable FPS on most titles (playing on a 1440p 144hz display), but I frequently encounter random frame drops. CPU and GPU temperatures sit between 70-80°C on the CPU and 70-82°C on the GPU (hotspot). This occurs in many games, including Apex Legends, Throne & Liberty (currently playing), RDR2, Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2, World of Warcraft, and most others. Exceptions are Terraria, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Starcraft 2, which are running well. Baldur’s Gate 3 is also generally stable.

Exceptions: I haven’t seen problems with Terraria, League of Legends, Dota 2, or Starcraft 2. Also, Baldur’s Gate 3 works most of the time. (Vulkan) The issue tends to appear when something pops up on the screen—such as tutorial windows, achievements, quests, or events. It happens randomly, not on a regular schedule, and doesn’t always occur after a set interval. Sometimes it happens after one minute or a few seconds, occasionally after 1 minute or 2 seconds. I can’t trigger it intentionally.

What I’ve tried so far: Updated drivers (including GPU driver), updated Windows 10, upgraded to Windows 11, reset BIOS, enabled/disabled various settings like XMP, Game Mode, HAGS, Re-Bar, Powerplan, GameDVR, GSync, VSync, and more. Used different graphics cards, changed outlets, adjusted polling rates with CPULasso, underclocked/overclocked GPU, undervolted GPU, disabled features like Root, RAAS, background processes, and more. Also reset Nvidia settings, tested another GPU (RTX 3060 Ti), turned off GameBar, notifications, telemetry, and Cortana.

Did you turn on frame capping in games such as Apex Legends? I experienced better 1% lows by capping the game rather than letting it run forever. How much space is your hard drive taking up? What’s the size of the page file? Have you checked performance across various power supplies or even different homes?

I checked uncapped and capped through in-game cap, RTSS, GSync, Nvidia Control Panel. No improvement. Boot percentage is at 62% on a 1TB Samsung 980. Pagefile size is between 48k-96k MB. Tried a different plug in the same apartment. Haven’t tried another house, but maybe worth a shot.
