Hey there, I’m facing some trouble with two games as mentioned in the topic. My setup includes an i5-4590 processor (4 cores, 3.2GHz base, 3.4GHz boost), a H81 motherboard, 4GB DDR3 RAM, a GTX1080 graphics card, and a 750W power supply. I’m using two monitors at full 1920x1080p, but the games don’t scale properly across them—playing on one monitor gives solid FPS, yet the game splits consistently between 3 and 25 frames per second, causing stutter and crashes, especially in CoD:MW and Warzone. I notice most titles are using full CPU power even when my system isn’t at its minimum spec. Any suggestions? Could adding more RAM help? I’m considering a 16GB DDR3 upgrade later, but right now I only have the GTX1080 and a friend gave me the new card. Thanks in advance for your help!

Your processor is the biggest constraint. It doesn't move quickly enough to match the 1080

I was concerned about what others might think since I didn’t need to buy a new CPU ATM. Those two games are almost impossible to play. Would increasing the resolution and scaling down to 1080p then put more pressure on the GPU while reducing my overall FPS, easing some load on the CPU? Is that the standard I should be considering now? I intended to switch to an AMD model next time, but I didn’t want to upgrade right away. If I found a used i7 from the 4 series (compatible with my motherboard), would that make sense or just wasting money?

You have options for a great value, depending on whether your games run on CPU or GPU. Here are some examples to consider:
- *Cyberpunk 2077* (CPU optimized)
- *Elden Ring* (GPU focused)
- *Hades* (balanced performance)

Please let me know if you'd like more suggestions, and I’ll quote this message for you.
Thanks!

Higher detail won’t make much difference. An i7 would only be a minor improvement; for better performance, think about a 1600AF or 3600 on a B450 board.

Do you think the R5 3600 will still be useful? I’ve had the i5-4590 since its release and it’s performed well for me so far. My main games are Rainbow Six: Siege, plus a few others like Hitman, Hitman 2, GTA V, Batman, Arkham, Kingdom Come, Deliverance, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, ARMA, Half-Life 2, Borderlands 2, Star Wars: Jedi Knight, and the Tomb Raider reboot. I’m not sure how long that list will stay relevant.

VSYNC is now active in both games, which has significantly reduced stuttering and hangs. It seems the CPU was limiting performance more, as frame rates have dropped below 60fps. Warzone in COD and Division 2 still experienced frame rate reductions, but now around 30fps instead of the previous 2-12fps.
