My frame rates are consistently plummeting from 120 to between 40 and 50 when I’m close to the Vale or in heavily populated areas with numerous enemies and buildings. Initially, the game operated flawlessly. However, performance deteriorated significantly upon entering urban environments. My graphics card’s utilization declines noticeably during these drops in frame rate. I enjoy the game immensely, but these sudden dips in performance are causing me considerable stress.

Launch the Resource Monitor application on your device.

Spend a few moments watching its activity, then minimize Resource Monitor and launch Outer Worlds, ensuring you remain outside of settlements. Note any variations in the displayed data when Outer Worlds is running without being within a town, compared to when it’s running while you are in a town.

Subsequently, enter towns and compare the metrics again.

I believe your computer might be slightly below the minimum requirements for smoothly running Outer Worlds.

Please revise your post to include a complete list of your computer’s hardware specifications.

Also, compare your system’s specifications to the game’s suggested requirements – Outer Worlds typically categorizes these as “minimum,” “recommended,” and “optimal.”

It’s advisable to aim for the "optimal" specifications, rather than settling for “minimum,” if your budget allows.

I am relocating this discussion to the PC Gaming forum as these problems likely extend beyond just screen performance.

Other players and PC gamers may be able to provide more precise troubleshooting steps and strategies.

Analyzing these measurements, should I examine the provided graph from the Resource monitor? It made no noticeable change when playing within Edgewater town and outside of it, according to the two charts. However, observing the buildings in the city caused a decrease in my frames per second, while looking downward (at ground level) resulted in an increase. I intend to try the remaining recommendations later. Thank you for your assistance, by the way.

I have been examining performance measurements from online videos and comparing those results with my own system specifications. I am unable to replicate the outcomes observed by others. One video demonstrated an average frame rate of 80 in a very high graphics setting, yet when I play Kingdomcome: Deliverance, I experience frame rates between 40 and 50 frames per second in urban areas.

As you conduct your evaluations, observe all elements: processor, graphics card, memory, and storage devices. You can achieve a similar result by examining Task Manager as well. The important thing is to identify a particular action or scenario that causes frame rate drops consistently. For instance, consider observing the scenery ahead or focusing on your feet as you’ve previously done. Analyze the data using both display methods and identify comparable scenarios. Compare settings with active movement versus periods of inactivity.

Nevertheless, after reviewing the system specifications you’ve provided, I am concerned about that 520-watt SeaSonic power supply. How old is this PSU? It could be deteriorating and unable to adequately support the demands of your graphics card. Calculate the total power consumption of all system components, using the highest values from any specified ranges. Then, add 25%. How close is this total to 520 watts?

I acquired the power supply unit in June, and it continues to operate effectively. I intend to try alternative solutions tomorrow to determine if there’s any variation in performance.
