Hello everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to view this discussion.

I'm a new streamer from Belgium. Over the past two weeks, I’ve encountered an issue when streaming with Streamlabs OBS.

My games run smoothly at 144Hz when I’m not actively streaming. However, attempting to stream causes instability in many titles. For instance:

* **Fortnite:** Frame rates frequently cap at 60-64 FPS. Utilizing Performance mode brings them back to 144Hz, but chat interactions trigger a significant decrease to approximately 70 FPS.
* **Rocket League:** Generally performs well, though occasional frame rate drops occur during conversations.
* **Rainbow 6:** The higher refresh rate feels noticeably sluggish and laggy.

Here’s a breakdown of my system specifications:

* CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
* Motherboard: AB350 Gigabyte Gaming 3
* MEMORY: 16Gb Crucial 2400Mhz
* GPU: RTX 2070 Gigabyte Windforce
* PSU: Seasonic Focus Plus Platinum 750w
* SSD: Samsung 970 Evo plus (500GB - NVMe) and Samsung 850 Evo (500Gb)

This problem began shortly after I recently reinstalled Windows using the Media Creation Tool, approximately 1-2 weeks prior. I would appreciate any advice or solutions that anyone else has found who has experienced a similar problem.

Thank you very much in advance!

Sincerely,
DePosse

Have you increased your computer’s clock speed? Are the temperatures within acceptable limits? Were all drivers updated individually? Is your SSD firmware current, and has your motherboard BIOS been updated as well?

Greetings Helpstar,

I haven’t adjusted any system clock speeds. I simply enabled an XMP profile for my memory to achieve a speed of 2400 MHz – this was done prior to the reinstallation. I installed the drivers myself, not the older drivers that would be automatically downloaded when connected to the internet. My BIOS is also at its most current version, and the SSD was brand new with the latest firmware (verified using Samsung Magician software). The graphics card driver is also up to date.

Please be aware that this issue arose suddenly and unexpectedly. Temperatures are normal with my standard cooler, which I don’t believe is a cause for concern.

Best regards,
