i've been experimenting with frame limiters to discover the optimal pacing settings for single-player titles. i checked every RTSS configuration and all options in Special K. the game i tested was Ghost of Tsushima at 1440p maximum, using DLAA plus Frame Gen. i prefer Frame Gen since it greatly improves low frame rates without much latency—this is fine for single-player games with a controller. RTSS front edge sync works perfectly for smooth pacing but adds a tiny bit of noticeable delay. The Special K Normal Present to Present limiter offered great pacing with a responsive feel. All three options felt quite similar, so i definitely suggest trying them all—they performed best overall.
