Frame Drops on BFV
Frame Drops on BFV
Hello fellow gamers! I've been playing Battlefield V since its release and have encountered some FPS issues. The main concern is that all settings are set to low for maximum performance at an average frame rate of 1440p, which sometimes drops to 50-70 and occasionally reaches 90-100 fps but often experiences large frame drops lasting 1-3 seconds. After switching the resolution to 1080p, the same average FPS is achieved without any noticeable difference or frame drops. My PC runs a Maximus V Extreme with an Intel 3770K at 3.9GHZ and an Asus ROG STRIX 1070 OC edition, with the game installed on an SSD. The CPU usage during gaming is consistently at 100%. Is this a CPU bottleneck affecting the GPU?
What amount of RAM do you possess? Additionally, there could be a CPU bottleneck because the i7 model is quite outdated.
Check CPU and GPU utilization next. If GPU usage decreases when CPU reaches 100%, it’s probably a CPU limitation.
I just want to confirm everything is working well so far; I’m considering upgrading my PC with an Asus ROG Strix Z390-F Gaming, an Intel Core i5-9600K, 32GB DDR4, and a new Corsair CPU watercooling system. However, this would cost about 1000 euros, and I need to be sure the CPU isn’t limiting the GPU performance.
CPU usage should not remain at 100% in Battlefield 5 with your current configuration. It should stay between 60-100%, typically around 70-85%, most of the time. You should be GPU bound even when running at 1080p. Look into this first. I've just reviewed YouTube videos about BF5 i7 3770 and found this isn't a typical problem for your CPU. https://www.youtube.com/results?sp=CAI%3...+3770+1070 Do you close browsers and other programs...your PC is running before you start gaming?
