I own a Dell r515 and the RAID controller's battery failed, yet the unit shows it's rechargeable. I'm struggling to locate a charger or a DIY solution, and any help would be greatly appreciated!

The battery typically gets recharged via the controller. If it stops holding a charge, it should be swapped out.
