I like having a view of my character model—it pulls me away from games and into a scene where I’m just two floating hands in space destroying everything. This is especially true in horror and stealth titles.

Absolutely correct! Experiencing some third-person shooters such as Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist often felt slow and frustrating, making aiming difficult and ruining the overall enjoyment. You'll notice these issues more clearly in TPS titles, but for intense aiming scenarios it really takes a toll. The field of view and motion blur can be problematic, combined with noticeable lag.
