Hi everyone, I’m trying to figure out if FPS changes are normal during gameplay. Recently I set up a new PC for console gaming and have been playing a few titles. I noticed my FPS can swing quite a bit—sometimes reaching up to 80fps, other times dropping to around 30-50fps or even lower. This inconsistency is confusing because it seems to happen randomly, especially in intense moments. I’m not sure if there’s a reason behind it and would really appreciate any advice on how to stabilize it.

It seems you're checking your graphics configuration. Would you like to know what your current individual settings are? Adjusting one might help improve your FPS.

In all my games it doesn't help, even when I play at the lowest settings.

Have you considered updating your driver? I've seen many online discussions about BO4 being highly optimized, so what you're facing might be related to the game itself, which is a frequent issue among multiple players. Try playing different games and see if the problem persists.

The changes occur in every game and I've looked for updates today; there are none. Maybe that accounts for the issue if the optimization is poor.

Other games shouldn't be unstable either. It depends on the games you're playing and the FPS you're using.

Fluctuations in frames per second are typical, yet sudden drops aren't. The variation stays within ±20fps around the average. Below -20fps under normal levels is a drop; when the average falls to 30-50fps from 80fps, it becomes a notable issue and may indicate a problem. Usually, graphic settings are adjusted to avoid noticeable drops, even during intense gameplay with effects like smoke or explosions.

Would you like me to do some testing? You can use tools like Fraps or MSI Afterburner. Start recording FPS while playing through games or an empty server where you can simulate performance drops. Try different resolutions and presets, then note the minimum, maximum, and average FPS during the test.

I regularly play Overwatch, and the FPS ranges from 140 to 80 at times, which means I don't have many games to share stats.

Sure, I'll do my best to rephrase while keeping the same meaning and tone.
