Fps per minute for 30 seconds each time you begin a game
Hello, I'm really struggling right now and truly appreciate every reply! Six months ago I made a major upgrade to my PC—new motherboard, SSD, RAM, and all the usual stuff—but in certain games, after about 30 seconds to up to 4 minutes, the frame rate drops drastically, ranging from 1 fps to 1-20 fps, lasting for 30 to 60 seconds. I have no idea what's causing this issue, as it only happens in a few titles. The affected games are: War Thunder, Hell Let Loose, Battlebit Remastered, Pubg Battlegrounds, and Farming Simulator 22. Beam ng Drive. You can watch the footage here: https://youtu.be/kmnJC3TC52k?si=4GYugWgoZtttupCE. I'm not sure what to do, only that it happens occasionally. After some troubleshooting—reinstalling drivers, updating BIOS in January, and upgrading the GPU four months ago—I still don't have a clear solution. My specs are: Asus X670e Hero, Gainward GeForce RTX 4090, AMD 7950X, 4x 16GB GDDR5 Trident Neo DDR5, and Samsung 990 Pro 1 and 2TB.
What is the make and model of your PSU?
I updated the BIOS in January.
What is the BIOS version for your motherboard?
I reinstalled the drivers multiple times.
Where did you obtain the installer for the operating system? Did you install it offline?
And I upgraded the GPU four months ago.
Which GPU were you using before if you currently have the RTX4090?
Corsair HX1200 1200W ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO BIOS 1709 12.10.2023
I realized it's not necessary to update the BIOS much, but it has been a while since then. This latest BIOS update fixed several issues. Most problems resolved, though one persistent issue remains. I downloaded the files from Microsoft and reinstalled via USB.
What is the age of your PSU? It's 6 months.
We'll be back.
You have pending BIOS updates.
A Gainward phantom GeForce RTX3080 10gb
Did you run DDU to remove all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD and Nvidia) in Safe Mode, then manually reinstalled using the latest driver from Nvidia's support site via an elevated command?
I purchased it in July 2022 brand new
Yes, I'll attempt a bios update to check for changes
Yes, it seems everything has been replaced, I even swapped out the M.2 SSD that was used before, and installed two new Samsung 990 Pro SSDs
The previous SSD was slow for M.2 and had 500GB storage
I downloaded the driver from NVIDIA and also configured NVIDIA Experience
when examining the details, occasionally under "view reliability history" I encounter a "hardware error," though I never identified its cause. I searched thoroughly but came up with more questions than answers. I believe I have a screenshot somewhere and hope to locate it later.
