Hi everyone. I'm setting up a gaming PC targeting 1440p resolution. Coming from an Xbox One X, I'm unsure if I should go for 1440p or 1080p. My choice of CPU and GPU is a Ryzen 5 3600 with an RTX 2070 Super. I want everything to work perfectly so I'm not let down. Any tips or information would be super helpful. Thanks!

You can achieve 100 FPS on high settings at 1440p with that combination.

Varies with dimensions, 24-inch 1080p offers nearly identical PPI to 1440p at 27 inches

Players generally prioritize refresh rate more than resolution. The ideal choice varies by player type. For those who value stunning visuals, frame per second and refresh rate take precedence. If smoothness matters, a minimum of 120Hz is recommended. At 1080p, resolution becomes less critical (and larger pixels are preferred in competitive settings).

I mainly play for fun, but I enjoy competing when I can. I’m looking for a good gaming setup so I don’t feel left behind. Right now I’m still using an 8 Samsung LED TV.
