Hello! I've been playing Valorant for about a year and have encountered an issue. Earlier, I experienced FPS stuttering where my CPU frequency would jump from 4k to 200 in seconds and then reverse. This was really frustrating, but one of the forum members suggested locking my CPU cores, so I did that. I set my CPU core to 3.8 GHz and my FPS became much more stable.

But then one day, my FPS dropped significantly. Usually I maintained around 160 FPS, but now I couldn’t exceed 60+. The game became so poor it was almost impossible to play. I tried letting the CPU go back to auto, which brought my FPS up to 300+, but the stuttering remained problematic. The temperatures are still within normal ranges.

Details:
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600x
GPU: Gtx 1060 6gb
Motherboard: ASROCK AB350M Pro4
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400Hz
CPU Temp: Between 60 and 66°C
GPU Temp: 65 to 70°C
HDD: 1.73 TB free of 1.81 TB
SDD: 53 GB free of 111 GB
Power Supply: Evga 600W 80 Plus Bronze

Verify your thermal performance. Install an application such as HWMonitor or comparable. It's also conceivable your CPU might be faulty. Then a replacement CPU might be necessary.

I also noted that my CPU and GPU usage are under 20%.
