Yes. I displayed the bios, and it's now running F11. Removing the CMOS involves taking the small battery out of my motherboard, correct?
Remove the battery (ensure the system is off and disconnected from power, all cables removed such as USB, etc.). Then usually connect two pins on the motherboard labeled CLRTC. After completing this, reinstall the battery and restart. Initially, the first screen should guide you to the BIOS instead of loading the operating system. Once in BIOS, turn XMP back on, restart again, and verify functionality.
Games evolve over time due to regular updates, which might apply to the two you referred to. You might also download the newest video card drivers, use DDU to fully remove the existing ones and then reinstall the video drivers. If you have a different storage device, you could try that as well.
