I'm experiencing frequent FPS drops in Stardew Valley, especially when adjusting Afterburner's OSD settings. The only consistent pattern I notice is a jump from 15-20 CPU usage to over 35, followed by a noticeable 5 FPS decrease each time. I checked the userbenchmark link you provided, but it seems unrelated to my current issue. I'm new to this site and will try to address the question tomorrow morning.

That's improved, but 9 percent is still a bit high.
They only have 10% free space on their SSD.
This is really bad for them and might be contributing to your issue.
SSDs require around 20% free space for optimal performance or for a 50 GB drive.
GB
If you go over that, performance will drop significantly.
Your hard drive might need to be defragmented.

keep monitoring Task Manager to observe other processes during the spike in usage, as a background task might be consuming excessive CPU resources and impacting performance.

I believe it might be the chrome effect appearing occasionally or briefly increasing for a moment. Is this typical? The CPU isn’t even hitting 50%, which makes the game drop unexpectedly. Thanks for your response!

You're seeing about 31% background CPU usage in your tests. The missing graphics card might also be contributing. This could mean that when something runs on one core, it's using more than expected, especially if mining, virus scanning, or video playback is active.

It might have been a poor decision to execute userbench while Chrome was active; another attempt is recommended.
