FPS remain stable at good levels (150-250) for a few hours after I begin using the PC, then they drop to 45/60/80 and stay in that range. Restarting the computer helps but it returns to the same situation.

I do not have specific operating temperature data for idle and under load conditions, nor am I currently overclocking any components.

THE LEFT ONES REPRESENT THE CURRENT VALUE, THE MIDDLE ONE IS THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE AND THE RIGHT ONE IS THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORDED
These are the temperatures with only chrome working.
These are the temperatures with nearly the highest levels I would typically use together = (chrome plus game)
It feels very artificial since it doesn’t gradually decrease like in FPS. It can suddenly jump to 150 fps, then drop to 60 or 80 and stay there without changing, no matter what. The number just randomly fluctuates between 45, 60, and 80.
Adjusting settings that boost performance doesn’t make a difference; only resetting the PC helps.

Do you have a CPU cooler installed? It seems like it's getting quite warm.

Your processor is overheating significantly. It's possible the throttling is causing the problem, and a more effective cooling method might be what you need.

That's the only thing I'm wondering about—it's curious why the issue popped up after switching to Windows 10.

It might have been a random occurrence, not the first time. Have you recently adjusted any hardware components? When was your CPU cooler last installed?

I haven't made any adjustments. The cooler stayed unchanged since 2016 when I purchased this PC.

It's time to replace the thermal paste and check the results (the material between the heatsink and CPU). Your current setup seems outdated and might not be working optimally.

Cpu cooling is INTEL E97378-001
I don’t believe the issue is hardware-related. I mentioned using Windows 7 and my FPS never dropped below 60 for more than a few seconds, and Alt-Tab helped resolve it. After switching to Windows 10, the problem disappeared instantly. Now, when my FPS reaches 60, pressing Alt-Tab brings it up to 80 and keeps it stable. On Windows 7, if the FPS caps at 60, Alt-Tab would restore it to 150-300. The way it locks at those numbers feels unusual—it’s as if a frame rate cap is set at 80, but that clearly isn’t the case.
If changing the CPU cooler isn’t an option, what could be a suitable alternative?
Processor: Intel i5-4570 3.2ghz
Motherboard: MSI H87-G43
