the laptop isn't running as smoothly as expected, losing around 20fps compared to a higher-end model. it seems like the GPU might be the issue, but I'll investigate further later. I believe it needs thorough cleaning—new thermal paste for both GPU and CPU, plus clearing out the vents. Sure, it probably won't reach the desired frame rate, and the physics performance is also lacking.

It's important to note that I purchased the laptop a year ago. I maintain a tidy workspace and laptop. About 3-4 days prior, I opened my laptop to insert the second drive and found it was relatively clean.

There’s clearly something unusual happening here. The temperatures look normal, but the frame rates drop sharply and don’t recover. At least we have some data to work with now. It might help to run a benchmark test on the hardware, especially if you’re curious about storage devices or other components.

Likely a power cap restriction or similar limitation.

It's an Alienware laptop equipped with the Alienware Command Center. I set the thermal profile to Performance and the power profile to Ultimate performance for gaming.

It indicates you don't have a GPU. You should disable any overlays or afterburners you may have enabled.

I understand your concern. There don't seem to be noticeable drops except possibly in FPS. For physics performance, it's expected to be normal, not exceeding high boosts. Are we really confident this laptop can handle Cyberpunk at "high" settings? At around 55fps and 4K resolution, I'm a bit skeptical—it might be underperforming, about 12% lower than ideal.

4k refers to a high standard, though 14fps might not be ideal in GTA 5 either.

Yes, everything functioned properly before you started installing the drive.

I removed MSI After Burner since it wasn’t running and restarted the computer. We noticed better performance in the results, moving from the 58th to the 63rd percentile. However, the GPU still isn’t detected in the benchmark. I’m not sure why. My laptop usually achieves around 45-55 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K resolution. No. This fps drop has been ongoing for a while, and I haven’t used the machine before.
