I purchased a gaming PC in 2016 through an online shop. They assembled it according to the parts listed, and after testing it, they shipped it. Once I powered it on, I tried turning it off, but it rebooted automatically. After a week of contacting them and sending photos, they informed me the power supply wasn’t compatible with the motherboard, so I returned it. They replaced it with another unit, originally a 650W model, which was later changed to a 600W one. Eventually, the company filed for bankruptcy. This is the story behind my PC issues—I experience frame drops every few minutes, dropping from 120 to around 10 to 15 FPS for half a second before returning. It happens regardless of the game I play, whether it’s GTA V or an old title from the early 2000s. Even at the lowest graphics settings, my frame rate jumps back quickly. Online searches only mention overheating and low frame rates, but my rate recovers instantly. Someone I know thinks it might be due to insufficient wattage. The PC seems to have started up again after being repaired. Could anyone assist me with this?
I don't think the "crazy PSU" is the main issue... It might be related to the motherboard. Have you verified your CPU, RAM, GPU, and power usage with HWInfo?
A short sample shows the drop. It lasts just 11 frames. In updated areas it appears longer (can’t access right now because I don’t have a subscription). FullSizeRender.MOV
