Fps decreases gradually in WoW Bfa over time
Hello,
I'm experiencing FPS problems in World of Warcraft Bfa, where the frame rate gradually decreases over time. For instance, I begin with around 200 fps in an arena waiting room, and it starts to drop steadily until it reaches 100 fps within the same area. When I reload the game, it returns to normal. This issue occurs consistently across different parts of the game.
I've followed all the recommendations from Blizzard's website and even reinstalled my computer. I performed several stress tests using 3D Mark and UserBenchmark during the day. I also checked for memory leaks, and everything appears to be in order.
My system is nearly brand new: it was purchased on 23/07/2020.
Hardware:
- Graphics: RTX 2080 Super
- CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B450-F GAMING, Socket-AM4
- PSU: Corsair TX650M, 650W
- Monitor: Asus 27" ROG Strix XG279Q
It should cap at 170 fps, but I can only set it to 144Hz. This might be the cause.
Additionally, I've noticed this problem is specific to WoW—Witcher 3 runs smoothly.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm really struggling.
Do your bios, chipset, GPU, and Windows updates match the latest versions? Have you verified the temperatures? Are you applying the Ryzen performance power plan within Windows? I’m aware the board’s VRM performance isn’t ideal. Confirm your case provides sufficient airflow. Are all add-ons confirmed to be current?
Thanks for your reply.
All drivers are current. The Windows version is up to date. Temperatures are usually fine, rarely exceeding 60. I'm using the Ryzen performance power plan, and airflow works well. I've achieved the same results without any add-ons, so it's not that issue.
Perhaps I should take the PC back for a repair. It's really frustrating and is making me lose interest in playing the game.
