FPS CPU is operating significantly under performance standards.
CPU is operating far below expectations. User benchmarks show poor performance, though other components are functioning normally. Idle rate is just 2%. Usually close unnecessary apps during gameplay, mainly Discord. Currently stuck under 144fps in League of Legends, around 55fps on Battlefield 1, 2042. Despite hardware specs and results, benchmarks suggest much higher frame rates are achievable. Spec: Intel Core i7 9700k @ 3.60GHz, GeForce RTX 2070, 8GB RAM, Cooler Master Hyper 212 Z390-A PRO, Corsair TX550M, 550W PSU. Updated September 4, 2022 by GrapoFruit
Sorry to hear that—it's a 9700k and you're new to this. I get it, it can be confusing at first.
Thanks for the introduction! This topic has really become a big concern for me. I'm just starting out and haven't even tried overclocking yet. The temperatures stay between 65-70°C during stress and around 35°C in regular use.
The RAM speed is relatively low; you might want to try overclocking it to 2800 or 2933. If your clock speeds are high, reducing them could help, though that involves more steps. Temperatures are acceptable, but I see the UB page indicating the CPU turbo average is just 2.9GHz. This suggests a possible issue with power delivery to the CPU. You may need to verify that Windows isn't prioritizing power saving in its settings, and in BIOS, check for "multicore enhancement" under CPU options—it can improve performance.
Everything's been rising from 2.9 to 4.1. I haven't checked the in-game FPS yet.
This seems great. If your gaming stats have improved, it looks like the issues are resolved. I usually run a hyper 212 to boost my i7-8086K, so if you want even more performance upgrades for your CPU, you’ll likely have room to play around.
It seems the average frames per second on the battlefield increased by about 20. Appreciate the assistance! I might consider learning proper optimization techniques later, but for now I'm satisfied it's functioning.
